Feijoa and chocolate mousse is a delightful dessert that captures the essence of ripe feijoas. This creamy delicacy combines the unique flavor of feijoas you can add dark chocolate to help cut the sweetness of the feijoas, resulting in a fluffy and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  • 700g feijoas, skin removed and chopped
  • 350g dark chocolate, chopped
  • A tiny bit of oil (for melting chocolate)
  • Whipped cream

Method

Step 1

Place the chopped feijoas in an oven-proof bowl and microwave for about 6 minutes or until they are soft.

Step 2

Transfer the softened feijoas to a food processor and blitz them until smooth.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, add the chopped dark chocolate and a tiny bit of oil. Microwave the chocolate in 30-second bursts until it is completely melted, stirring gently between each burst.

Step 4

Combine the melted chocolate with the pureed feijoas in the food processor. Blend again until the mixture is silky smooth.

Step 5

Pour the mousse into a serving dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.

Step 6

Once chilled, serve the feijoa chocolate mousse with whipped cream.
