Feijoa Falling Water is a quintessentially New Zealand cocktail that combines the local feijoa-flavored vodka with Ch’i sparkling water, an herbaceous soft drink only found in that country. Feijoa is a popular tropical local fruit that tastes like a combination of guava, banana, and pineapple with a hint of mint. Jacob Briars created this drink at the Matterhorn Hotel in New Zealand.

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz (60 ml) Feijoa Vodka
  • 4 Oz (120 ml) Ch'i water Cucumber spear, to garnish

Method

Step 1

Add the vodka to a Collins or highball glass filled with ice. Top with Ch'i water and stir to combine. Garnish with a long cucumber spear.

Variation

if you are not in Newzealand Ch’i can be replaced with sparkling lemonade or lemonade lime soda.

When using alcoholic products such as 42 below vodka in recipes, it’s important to exercise caution, especially if serving to individuals who may be sensitive to alcohol or who are underage. Always drink responsibly and be mindful of the legal drinking age in your area. Additionally, if serving guests, make sure to inquire about any allergies or dietary restrictions they may have, and provide non-alcoholic alternatives for those who prefer them.

There are several non-alcoholic vodka alternatives available on the market. These alternatives are designed to mimic the taste and experience of traditional vodka without the presence of alcohol. I use them often since I don’t drink alcohol.

Enjoy your refreshing feijoa Falling water
