Feijoa sorbet is a frozen dessert made from diced feijoa fruit blended with a rich sugar syrup, then frozen until firm. It typically has a smooth consistency and a refreshing, fruity flavor reminiscent of feijoa.
Ingredients
- 750g feijoa, peeled and diced into small pieces
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup boiling water
- Green food dye (optional)
Method
Step 1
Peel and dice the feijoa into small pieces, then freeze them overnight.
Step 2
Prepare a rich sugar syrup by combining 1 cup of sugar with ½ cup of boiling water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the syrup cool in the freezer until very cold.
Step 3
In a food processor, combine the frozen feijoa pieces and the chilled sugar syrup.
Step 4
Pulse blend the mixture a few times until it starts to come together.
Step 5
Add splashes of boiling water gradually until the mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
Step 6
Optionally, add green food dye to enhance the appearance of the sorbet.
Step 7
Transfer the blended mixture into a container and place it in the freezer until firm.
Step 8
Once firm, serve and enjoy your homemade feijoa sorbet!
Enjoy!!
