This is a delicious dessert for dinner parties, especially for those who enjoy feijoas. To prepare feijoas in wine, follow the steps below. I prefer using alcohol-free wine such as Brown Brothers Wine, which has a very low alcohol content of 0.5% ABV, or The Giesen Zero 0% range.
Ingredients
- 6 Large feijoas
- ¼ cup Wine
- ¾ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Cornflour
- 2 Tablespoon water
- 150 ml cream
Method
Step 1
peel feijoas and cut in half lengthwise. combine wine, water and sugar in a saucepan.
Step 2
place overheat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add feijoas and simmer until just tender (the less cooking feijoas have, the more flavor they retain).
Step 3
Using a perforated spoon, carefully lift the feijoas into a serving bowl.
Step 4
Mix the cornflour and 2 tablespoon of water and add to the syrup. stir until boiling point is reached. simmer gently for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Pour over the fruit serve at room temperature with whipped cream.
