This fruit, known in some parts of the world as the Pineapple Guava, or feijoa, contains small amounts of fat and protein, but is rich in carbohydrates and vitamin C. In this article, we will learn how to make a spiced feijoa cake, including its recipe and method.

Ingredients

  • ½ lb peeled and chopped feijoas
  • 2 Tbsp. crystalized ginger (chopped)
  • 4 oz Melted butter.
  • ¾ cup raw sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp mixed spice and ground ginger

Method

Step 1

combine feijoas, ginger, butter and sugar and beat until sugar is dissolved.

Step 2

Add beaten egg, then dry ingredients.

Step 3

Bake in ring tin for 25-30 Minutes at 375 °F
